I’m running for the Gretna School Board because I want every student to receive an exceptional education, every educator to have the support needed to succeed, and every family and taxpayer to have confidence that our schools are planning wisely for the future.

Throughout my career, I’ve helped organizations navigate growth, adapt to change, manage budgets responsibly, build strong teams, and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges. I believe those same leadership principles can help Gretna continue building one of Nebraska’s premier school districts.

Meet Chris Conroy

Candidate for Gretna School Board

Chris Conroy is a father, attorney, and business executive who believes Gretna should be the very best place in Nebraska to raise a family and prepare children for lifelong success.

A Nebraska native, Chris grew up in the Omaha area and completed advanced university degrees before beginning a career in the retirement insurance industry. Throughout more than 30 years, he has worked across small and large firms with a focus on operations, finance, technology and legal and compliance functions. He’s looked to by fellow industry leaders for his strategic planning and organizational leadership expertise that have delivered continual growth. He has helped lead organizations through periods of rapid growth and business transformation, knowing that our world is evolving at a more rapid pace than ever. Chris’s depth of expertise gives him a strong understanding of what it takes to successfully govern responsibly, support student achievement, and build trust within the community.

When he’s not at the office, Chris enjoys spending time serving his community and the organizations that are helping both individuals and businesses grow and thrive. His volunteer work has included involvement with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa, United Way campaigns, a neighborhood homeowners association board, Iowa civil justice reform efforts, church fundraising, and insurance industry associations.

Chris’s leadership philosophy is simple: listen first, ask good questions, study the facts, respect different viewpoints, and think beyond the next budget cycle. As he often says, “God gave us two ears and only one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak.”
